Front page x home page

A newspaper front page is rejected if it is cluttered, lacks hierarchy, and does not offer a good visual point of entry. A front page with a definitive lead headline and photo, however, grabs the reader. A home page is the same way; one that resembles the window of a hardware store becomes a five-second stopover on the way to the next web site.
