Top twitter trends of 2010

(atualizado em 14 de dezembro, às 08h24)

Curioso, Julian Assange e WikiLeaks Cablegate aparecem nas categorias People e News Events respectivamente.

Por que, então, não foram aos Trending Topics?

"Twitter has analyzed the 25 billion tweets sent in 2010 and published the list of top overall trends in the year behind us, as well as the top 10 trending topics in eight categories: News Events, People, Movies, Television, Technology, World Cup, Sports and Hashtags.
Twitter’s top ten overall trends actually paint quite a good picture of what the world was interested in in 2010; definitely more so than Google’s list of the fastest rising search topics.
The Gulf oil spill and the Haiti Earthquake were definitely among the biggest news stories of the year. The FIFA World Cup, the accompanying vuvuzelas, and the psychic octopus Paul captured the attention of almost the entire world for a couple of months, and iPad and Android were constantly generating buzz in the world of technology. The rest, as one might expect, is entertainment: Christopher Nolan’s hit movie Inception, the teen sensation Justin Bieber, and the omnipresent Harry Potter. Here’s the full top 10 list:
1. Gulf Oil Spill
2. FIFA World Cup
3. Inception
4. Haiti Earthquake
5. Vuvuzela
6. Apple iPad
7. Google Android
8. Justin Bieber
9. Harry Potter & the Deathly Hallows
10. Pulpo Paul
Check out Twitter’s microsite to see the top trends for the individual categories."

Revistas miram Facebook para vender assinaturas

Synapse, a subscription marketing agency that works with major magazine publishers like Condé Nast, Hachette Filipacchi and Hearst, is working with with Alvenda, a company that specializes in Facebook shopping applications, to enable publishers to sell subscriptions directly on Facebook Pages and even in users’ newsfeeds beginning in July or August (via Mashable).

Isso coloca em xeque a privacidade no Facebook. É verdade que maillings valem um bom dinheiro, mas como fica a questão da proteção de dados pessoais?

Apple or Adobe: Who’s Right in the Flash Debate?

Do Mashable:

By now, you’ve probably heard about the fight between Apple and Adobe. To sum up the story, Apple banned Flash from the iPad, people began predicting the death of Flash, and Adobehas been on the defensive ever since.
The Apple-Adobe war has only escalated in recent weeks.Apple’s core argument is that HTML5 is the future of the web, not Flash. Adobe is looking to prove Apple wrong by delivering Flash for mobile devices later this year.
Who’s right, though? While we’ve already weighed in on the debate, we want to hear what you think. Cast your vote below, and post your a comment to let us know your rationale!

Na lista do Nobel da Paz

Deu no Mashable:

"The Internet has made the list of nominees for the Nobel Peace Prize this year, going up against a Chinese dissident and a Russian human rights activist among others.

The nomination was made after a petition by the Italian version of Wired Magazine, which cited the Internet’s contributions to “dialogue, debate and consensus through communication”. Signatories include Iranian activist Shirin Ebadi, and organizers say the nomination will make for a legitimate entry.

Legitimate or not, it’s unlikely that the Nobel Committee would choose such an unlikely winner this year: as the AP reports, last year’s pick of Barack Obama proved controversial given his short time in office. This year’s choice is likely to be a conservative one."

Project Retweet

What do you think about this?

1. You can see if someone retweets a link with a small line that says “Retweeted by ___” under the tweet and the time when the tweet was sent.

2. Hovering over a tweet will soon make two options appear: Reply and Retweet. Reply is already supported by Twitter – it’s that little arrow that appears on the right when you hover over a tweet.

3. Clicking on the “Retweet” button will confirm if you really want to retweet this tweet to all of your followers.

4. The retweet is done. It apparently shows the people that have retweeted it in your timeline. We’re unsure as to how many people can be listed in the “Retweeted by” section of any tweet.

The big difference is how the retweet is displayed. The new system will not have the typical “RT @Mashable” that we have all grown accustomed to, but will instead move it to the bottom of tweets. This will be a shocking change for most Twitter users.

Para quem ainda não sabe o que é RT:

Retweeting, for those who are not familiar, is the practice of sharing interesting links and tweets on Twitter by adding “RT” plus the originator’s username at the start of the tweet (i.e. “RT @Mashable” or “RT @BenParr“). We explain retweets in-depth in HOW TO: Retweet on Twitter.
